He will succeed longtime safety leader Jimmy Burgin, who will retire in July 2026 after nearly three decades of service to AEU and the maritime industry. A Certified Safety Professional and former merchant mariner, Lake brings deep technical expertise, leadership in the safety community, and firsthand experience with waterfront operations.
