The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU), the leading provider of workers’ compensation for waterfront employers, announced today that the AEU National Forum will be held April 16 and 17, 2019 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Now in its 13th year, the AEU National Forum attracts more than 100 maritime industry professionals annually with relevant, interactive presentations and discussions on safety, claims, personnel, operations, and leadership.

“When we started this event, it was attended primarily by safety and claims professionals. Last year, we expanded the content to appeal to a much broader audience,” said Adele Hapworth, chief operating officer of AEU. “Now, we’re seeing more human resources managers, risk managers, senior executives and company owners. It’s a unique opportunity for everyone in maritime to come together and discuss their biggest challenges.”

This year’s event will have 17 sessions over two days. Keynote speakers include:

  • Donna Baylor, transition assistance program facilitator, TRANSITIONS Seminars
  • Joe White, director, AEU LEAD
  • Jim Robert, organizational consultant and owner, Best Foot 4Ward
  • Paul White, Ph.D., psychologist and best-selling author of The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace
  • Tressi Cordaro, attorney, Jackson Lewis PC
  • Stan Silverman, nationally syndicated writer on leadership, entrepreneurship and corporate governance

The event is free to members of the American Longshore Mutual Association (ALMA) and $1,200 for the public. More information and registration details are available on the event website.
